Quick Links...
Dear Jack ,

Welcome to the first Classic Bike Experience newsletter.  Many of you (actually most of you, if my math is correct) have asked to be on our mailing list, so don't click on the SPAM filter just yet!

This mail service is called Constant Contact and you can receive all of our emails, or just things you might be interested in, like bikes that become available at our shop on consignment, or upcoming events like a Spring Open House when riding season finally arrives (as I write this it is supposed to be 5 below for the next few days here in northern Vermont).

Each newsletter will include some updates on our shop along with a blurb or two about a project bike and/or customer, "new" bikes that we are listing, possibly some of our vendors/partners, upcoming events/shows and so on.

Importantly, we encourage you to forward this newsletter to anyone interested in Classic Bikes, where they can in turn sign up.  We are a relatively lean operation and this will be one of our primary marketing tools to stay in touch with the Classic Bike customer base and interested folks.  You are currently signed up for the three categories of mailings we now have:

*  General Interest
*  Newsletter
*  Newly Available Bikes (ie consignment bikes pop up regularly and we will send communications out for each new listing)

If you want to change which communications you receive, simple click on the "Join Our Mailing List" button to the left and follow directions. We also appreciate one man's passion is another man's spam, so you can rest assured that if you elect to be deleted from our mailing list by using the unsubscribe feature, we won't bug you again.  Many email systems distort the images.  The newsletter is best viewed using the webpage version link at the top.

Mark you calenders for Saturday, January 31st at the Sheraton Burlington for the Vermont Maturity Magazine 50+ and Baby Boomer show.  We will be there with bells on ready to talk bikes rather than retirement communities :)

Best to you from the Classic Bike Experience gang.

Jack

What's New at CBE
Open House Dec 2008Hey...the biggest news is that we are OPEN for Business!  Nothing like starting a new venture in the middle of the biggest global economic meltdown since the Great Depression.  But, based on the turnout we had for the OPEN HOUSE on Dec 6th (above) and calls, email and shouts in the street, we seem to be off to a good start.  We've had many helping hands along the way and thanks to all.  There are two things you can do to help us going in to 2009:  pass this newsletter along to anyone you know who might have the slightest interest in old Brit bikes and, well, you know, BUY SOME STUFF.  Cheers for the New Year.
Customer Profile - John's 1970 Commando
John H from Rhode Island contacted us about his 1970 Commando and liked the idea of participating in doing an assessment and restoration plan.  He drove 6 hours, stayed overnight and arrived with his Norton stuffed in the back of his Subaru the next morning.  He spent a delightful morning going through the bike with Welby and Nick.  John left with an agreed to plan for the restoration as well as a pile of parts he'll be working on himself.  Good, clean (well, a bit grungy actually) fun and his bike should be ready for spring riding.  Thanks John!

Featured Consignment Bike - Triumph Royal Wedding
Triumph Royal WeddingWe have coined this bike "The Gentleman's Express".  A truly unique Classic Brit bike.  Only 250 of the Royal Wedding edition bikes were made:  125 to the US and 125 for the home UK market to commemorate the wedding of Charlies and Diana.  This bike is a masterpiece that has been modified by a true craftsman to add reliability, durability, long legs and comfort all in one package.  Or, you can go back to stock with the original parts if that is your fancy.  Check out the details on our website and associated Shutterfly posting.
