Tanks, side covers & fenders: This is usually the biggest budget item in finishes. And, it is more than just the paint job. Getting accurate colors, scallops (for Triumphs), pinstriping, etc. is a bit of an art form. Our local paint guy, Brent, specializes in classic bike painting. We use Brent exclusively and in turn he provides us great service and very competitive pricing. For a summary on how we approach paint and other finishes, along with our "catalog" pricing, clink on the link below:

Color matching can be done several ways, including a direct match to colors on the tank that have not faded (eg under badges). For Triumph stuff, Brent can also get paint mixed by the master, Don Hutchinson.
Preferred method on decals is stenciling and clearcoat.
We can handle either steel or fiberglass tanks and any repairs or internal coatings required
Side covers/oil tanks and fenders are priced as pairs.
Our paint jobs are priced based on number of colors and whether pinstriping is involved (see link in intro for details). A Commando, for example, will often be one color on the tank and side covers (non painted fenders) whereas a 60's Triumph may have two colors on the tank and fenders with pinstriping to boot.
Your restoration project will live or die based on the quality of the finishes, most notably the tank, covers and fenders. After all the engine rebuilding, wheel truing, electrical sorting and fuel system fiddling, what catches everyone's eye first is the quality of the finishes.
At CBE, we can handle all your finish needs, including paint, powder coating, bead blasting, polishing and rechroming if necessary. Some we do in house, much we source to exclusive local partners.
