Our friends Jim and Lucy McCullough run this B&B along with Catamount Family Center, a wonderful preserve located in the heart of the greater Burlingotn Area.  Stay at the B&B, do a little mountain biking, trail running or nordic skiing before coming to CBE for your wrenching fix. The house, built in 1796, was originally built for Giles Chittenden by Vermont's first Governor Thomas Chittenden. Many of the Chittenden households grace the area, this one being part of the farm where Thomas once resided. Giles Chittenden almost lost the house and farm to his creditors but made a quick sale to his uncle ot avoid the foreclosure. Story goes, that he sold the property for a mere dollar and after his death his wife purchased the house and property back for the same amount and resold to a prominent Williston family, the Millers. In 1873 ancestors of the McCullough's purchased the property and ran it as a dairy farm until the mid-fifties. In the mid seventies people started to use the property for nordic skiing. In 1978 Jim and Lucy started the Catamount Family Center. As years passed, they ventured in expanding into other sports. A rich history to hold dear and share, we hope that you will join us today for the making of tomorrow's history!
