The following thumbnails will give you a feel for what the bike and/or project entails. We price our machines based on a wonderful guide published by the Vintage Japanese & European Motorcycle Club. The annual guide sells for $10 a copy and is available through their website. We use their Condition 1 to Condition 6 descriptions in our assessments.
Most of these bikes are customer consignment bikes. While we believe we have priced them fairly, we are obligated to present any reasonable offer to the seller you would like to make. Our preference is to sell them locally or regionally, but in some cases we will post on eBay or other sites at the owner's request.
Some bikes sell within days, others take months. It all boils down to finding the right buyer who is looking for your bike and vice versa. To date, the following bikes have sold through our consignment program:
The machine is a Condition 2 bike and a very, very sweet ride. Owner had a complete restoration done 3 years ago in Toronto by a reputable builder. Very stock and very well put together. We have had the bike in for regular service and enjoyed riding it quite a few miles ourselves. Owner just got back from a trip to Camden Maine and back.
The MKIII 75 Commando’s are the last year for the make and include electric start, front and rear disc brakes, left hand shift, and integrated anti sump valve. 850 motor pulls like a truck and sounds like a Norton should. The Commandos continue to appreciate, moreso the electric start MKIIIs as us old guys have a harder time kicking the big twins over.
Non-stock items include non-crossover pipe headers (ie 750 style), peashooter mufflers, and removable (vs hinged) seat.
Great bike from a very good home and a knowledgeable, conscientious owner. Just had routine service work and detailing done to prepare for sale while the season is still here. Reluctant sale.
$9400 to a good home only.
Great story with this bike. James from UK called one day in 2009 and announced he wanted to ship a Bonnie he bought on eBay to our shop and get it sorted. Well, one Friday the bike showed up at 11AM and James arrived at 1PM. Turns out he does biz, and has a daughter in, Montreal so, naturally, he needed a Brit bike for the summer Happy to help, we did all he usual maintenance and upgrades necessary to make the Bonnie a dependable summer fun runner. Then is was back to the shop in the fall for clean up, oil change and storage.
This machine is a nice condition 2.5 to 3.0 with all good chrome. Starts and runs as good as it looks. 10,000 miles on the speedo (no reason to believe it is not accurate, but we really never know). The 75-78 Bonnies and TR7 Tigers are favorites of riders new to the classic scene. They sport a very usuable (and torquey) power curve, 5 speed gearbox, front and rear disc brakes, directions and the shifter on the left side, like more modern bikes. And, there is no mistaking them as a classic Triumph in the look, sound and feel.
VJEMC guidelines peg this bike at between $7500 (condition 2) and $5000 (condition 3). This bike is a buy it and ride it deal. We know this bike very well and are sure you'll be happy with it if you fancy a 750 Bonnie.
$4950

* 1975 MKIII Electric Start - SOLD and in build for Jim in NH
* 1974 850 - Still Available
* 1972 750 - Still Available
These machines will be built to your spec and nominally run between $9000 and $14000 depending on what you want. Always easy to spend more, our commitment to you is to work within a reasonable budget and get you a terrific sport bike.

Get your motor running and have some fun while the season lasts on a Classic Brit bike. This is a very handsome 1967 BSA A65 Lightning that has just had work done on it and been assessed by The Classic Bike Experience in Essex, VT. Owner bouught a stunning Commando and now has to thin his herd (two bike rule in effect on the home front and he has another BSA), so we are listing it for him. What you see is more or less what you get. Condition 4.5 bike (see CBE website for discriptions) ready to ride for the balance of the season.
The bike has relatively new paint, decent chrome and finishes and everything works. Carbs have been rebuilt and synchronized and the Boyer electronic ignition properly timed. Tires are in good shape, seat has no tears and rear shocks are Hagons. We'll even include a free VT inspection sticker if the new owner is from Vermont. Starts and runs on the first or second kick.
These machines would normally fetch $3000 +/- in this condition. However, this bike is not matching numbers and will need some motor work at some point. Owner has agreed to discount the price significantly and asked that we try to find it a good home with a mechanically minded owner. The ideal buyer would ride it the rest of the summer and then do some restoration work in the winter time.
$1900 - On Deposit
We have a very complete Condition 5/6 Commando that will be an excellent base for a full restoration, a Gus build, or something in between. We committed to the owner that this bike will only go to a good, local home. Our preferred scenario is that the buyer embark on an assisted restoration with our membership program. The 73 Nortons are the highest value 750 Roadsters as by 73 all the important fixes were in production and by the end of 73, the 850s were on the scene. There are several ways to approach this bike's renaissance, so give us a buzz and let's talk it over.

Sweet, sweet 500 Daytona. Restored a few years ago for a gentlemen in NH who needs to thin his herd of bikes a bit. The machine was serviced in the spring by CBE and, as the motor had very few miles on it from the rebuild, we were asked to ride it as much as possible.....uh, OK :) The 73's have the benefit of directional signals and twin leading shoe front brake. The bike goes as good as it looks and it looks very, very good.
500's are a breeze to kick over, are lighter than the 650/750/850s and make a good starter bike for someone new to the classic scene. They will easily keep up with high speed traffic, but the secondary roads are where you'll want to spend your time on this beauty. We'll set up a Shutterfly site with more pics soon. This is a Condition 2 plus bike. 2009 VJEMC price guideline has it at $7800.
Price Reduced to $4800

This bike is owned by our Service Manager, Welby and obviously it comes from a very good home. This is a round barrel Enduro with correct knobby tires. This was the kick-butt trail bike back in the day. Nice, nice bike. Condition 2 Victor ready to go. More info and pics on the Shutterfly website below:

Coming soon.....the best the the Trident lot, the 74's had all the fixes in and still retained that delightful Triumph look. Nick, our parts guy, is thinning the herd and plans to sell his Trident soon. Just wants to fettle a bit more to get it running spot on for the next owner.
Check back often as he expects to list it in August.

Many of our customers ask us to keep an eye out for bikes for them. Commandos are a favorite, but we have leads on many machines. We can connect you with a bike, either running or not, and include shop hours and/or a restoration package to work on it yourself in our shop, your shop, or a combination of both. Most importantly, it is a lower risk approach to scoring your classic bike experience. Bikes will be changing over time, so check back often.
Please contact us if you want to see any of these bikes as many are at unique locations like car dealerships, etc. Our use permit with Essex does not allow us to "sell" bikes from this facility. However, they all need work so we keep them around until service and clean up are done.
